Brussels, 2 October 2017 – Further to the recent announcement that Keith Farlinger will be taking over from Martin van Roekel as the new global CEO of BDO, on 1 November 2017, BDO International Limited is pleased to announce 3 further global appointments within the network’s Global Leadership Team (GLT).

The current CEO EMEA, Anders Heede - who also fulfills the role of Global Head of Advisory services - is taking on the newly-created role of Chief Operating Officer. The overarching objective of this new role is to ensure that the BDO network is equipped to meet the challenges of today and is prepared for the future. Anders has been in an international role since 2011, having joined BDO Denmark as CEO in 2008.

Trond-Morten Lindberg has been appointed CEO EMEA, replacing Anders. Trond-Morten is currently CEO of BDO Norway, having joined the firm in 1999, become a partner in 2006 and taken on the Managing Partner role in 2010. Since then, he has transformed and grown BDO Norway through a series of mergers, among others with Praxity and Crowe Horwath. Under Trond-Morten’s leadership, BDO Norway has tripled in size in both revenue and headcount, becoming a market leader and matching the size of BDO’s larger competitors in Norway. He is currently a member of the global EMEA Board and, as CEO EMEA, he will now assume the role of chair of this Board.
The new global CEO, Keith Farlinger, currently holds the position of CEO Americas and a replacement has now been appointed to take up this role in his stead: Albert Lopez will become the new CEO Americas as of 1 January 2018.

Albert was made partner at BDO USA in 1988 and managed the assurance practice of BDO USA’s Miami office for a number of years, until taking on his present role as Southeast Assurance Regional Managing Partner in 2005. During this time, he has helped grow this BDO region through both organic growth and a series of mergers; Albert has served as a Board member of the US firm and heads up their Latin American / Caribbean desk. He is currently also a member of the global Americas Board and, as CEO Americas, he will now assume the role of chair of this Board.
